Scouting: 100 Years of Adventure

NC Museum of Natural Sciences, Raleigh - This museum is open free to the public year-round and hosts special events for scouts (see calendar above). Admission is charged for special exhibits.
 
NC Museum of Art, Raleigh - This museum is open free to the public year-round. Admission is charged for special exhibits. Look under events & activities on their website for children's programs.
 
NC Museum of History, Raleigh - This museum is open free to the public year-round. Admission is charged for special exhibits.
 
Historic Narrated Trolley Tours on the Raleigh Trolley & Mordecai Historic Park - Tours run every Saturday March through December. See the calendar above for special events. Call the Mordecai Historic Park at 857-4364 for information.
 
Raleigh Parks & Recreation offers a wide variety of classes, camps, and events throughout the year, including nature classes, sports teams, art & music instruction, and much more. The Leisure Ledger is published each season and includes a complete course catalog and general information about facilities. RecLink also offers a searchable format for selected courses that can be registered for online.
 
Blue Jay Point County Park - Located on the shores of Falls Lake, this park offers environmental education programs (including Discovery Boxes), nature trails, and fishing.
 
Morehead Planetarium & Science Center, Chapel Hill - Attend a planetarium show or science class, view the exhibits, or join them at Jordan Lake for Skywatching. Fees are charged for most shows & classes, but the exhibit halls and skywatching are free. The calendar above includes a few of their events. Check their website for more information about these and other events.
 
NC Museum of Life & Science, Durham - This museum has indoor science exhibits, a butterfly house, a petting zoo, outdoor play areas, and wild animal exhibits. Unfortunately, this museum is not free.
 
Kids Day at the NC Food Bank - Kids Day at the NC Food Bank offers an opportunity for kids ages 5-12 to server the community.  Take a tour of the facilities and help sort food - age appropriate.  Every 2nd & 4th Saturday of the month from 2 - 4pm.
